statementText = "
Love, Lust \+ Minutiae

This portfolio contains a selection of photographs from a project that I began nearly 4 years ago. At the time, I\'d been experiencing a deliberate period of introspection, sorting through the impressions left by my relationships of the prior decade — some had physical anchors including letters, photographs or various metaphorical souvenirs; others existed with relatively no evidence other than what remained in my mind. After being able to step back with some objectivity, I wanted to find ways to represent these remnants and build on them within a body of photographs.

When photographing, I try to mimic first person vision and thought, emphasizing detail, movement and atmosphere. The use of a triptych format builds a narrative, though not necessarily in a linear progression, often the images are meant to exist simultaneously in time.

For the story lines, I draw from the people I collaborate with, their personal lives and surroundings. I also photograph my partner and friends, un-staged, to directly incorporate an additional level of realism, though my goal would be to have these images indistinguishable from those that are essentially more scripted.";

// and ADDITIONALLY require the fullsize images to be located in a directory named 'triptychs' within the 'photos' folder
